After leaving school at sixteen I found myself working within the freight forwarding industry for ten years until a desire to pursue my interest in photography saw me return to full time education to undertake an HNC in Photography at Aberdeen College. This was then followed by freelance work within the Social and Commercial sector until an opportunity to undertake part-time photographic teaching led eventually to a full-time career in the educational sector.
Further study allowed me to gain an HND in Photography, a BA in Commercial Photography (with distinction) and a Licentiate with the Royal Photographic Society while continuing to balance various commercial commissions, collaborations and personal projects with my teaching roles as Lecturer in Photography at North East Scotland College and Associate Lecturer with Robert Gordons University on the BA Commercial Photography programme.
With a desire to embrace and explore various photographic opportunities I have remained open to different approaches, techniques and styles throughout my many years of practice resulting in a diverse portfolio of work. Based in Aberdeen, Scotland, I now work primarily in series where my main area of interest currently falls within both the urban and rural landscape and the many different elements found within each environment.
